Dr. Aaron Kennedy in the Westfjords
Dr. Aaron Kennedy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of North Dakota.
His research focuses on observing and understanding hazardous weather events such as blizzards and severe storms. During 2024-2025 he served as a Fulbright Scholar in Iceland under the National Science Foundation Arctic Research Grant.
Working with the Icelandic Meteorological Office, he lived in the remote Westfjords region of Iceland and deployed weather instrumentation to investigate conditions leading up to avalanches. This talk will present a photographic journey of the amazing experience.
