Reid’s first book was “Secrets of the Sprakkar: Iceland’s Extraordinary Women and How They Are Changing the World” (2022). The World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Report has ranked Iceland number one on its list of countries closing the gap in equality between men and women. In her book, Reid explores how Icelandic society achieved this status and what still needs to be done to achieve equality.

In 2014 Eliza Reid and Erica Jacobs Green co-founded the Iceland Writers Retreat. This is an annual gathering held in the spring in Reykjavík.

This is a joint presentation of The Icelandic National League of North America (INLNA) and the Icelandic National League of the United States (INLUS).
