INLUS Webinar – Sundhnúkur Volcanic Eruptions
The eruptions of the last two years on the Reykjanes Peninsula have captured worldwide attention with their impacts on the area’s landscape, the town of Grindavík, the Blue Lagoon and the infrastructure of the region.
Geology professor Shawn Willsey will be sharing his observations from his recent research visit to the area in this June 6, 2024, INLUS webinar.
The webinar will offer an overview of Iceland’s active geology through the lens of the ongoing eruptions of this highly active region.
Shawn P. Willsey is the author of Geology Underfoot in Southern Idaho, and co-author of Roadside Geology of Idaho (2nd Edition). Shawn is the Distinguished Professor of Geology at the College of Southern Idaho.
