Connect Newsletter Winter 2025 Releases
Winter 2025 Connect is online!

Elva S. Crist walks a footpath in Iceland.
This winter the INLUS Connect opens with a look at cycling across Iceland in the summer months. Maybe you hadn’t considered such a challenge. Aaron Kennedy has several Iceland bike trips under his belt, and he offers a unique glimpse into what its like, and how to do it, in the latest INLUS webinar.
Did you know Iceland will experience a solar eclipse this summer? Aaron talks about it in his presentation. We’ve included some links in case you want to rush over and view it next August.
INLUS Language classes are being prepped to start at the end of January. We share a quick note from Birna Sigurbjornsdóttir, who teaches the advanced classes.
The next Author’s Corner features Emil Gretarsson. He will talk about the children’s book series he co-writes with his wife, Heather. In the second offering of the “Tails of Nola” series, their favorite dog travels to Iceland. Catch the conversation live on December 2.
Speaking of authors, the newest INLUS Business Member is poet and publisher Wes Baden. He talks about his path to publishing an Icelandic/English language series of poems focused on Iceland.
And for readers who would like to explore their own writing in Iceland, Jeannie Entenza tells us about the Iceland Writers Retreat and why she’s attended several times.
Elva S. Crist adds two of her “Dispatches from Iceland” to complete the set she started on the INLUS Facebook page last summer.
We’ve also assembled a listing of local club events happening in the next few months, a message from INLUS President Doug Hanson, plus a new history project that will explore the communities where Icelandic settlers called home.
