Sel Hotel Mývatn

Iceland is not just a summer tourist spot! Elna Kristjánsdóttir from Hey Iceland will tell us about what’s new in winter tourism. We will then “travel” north to Sel Hotel Mývatn and meet Elvar Yngvason.

Sel Hotel Mývatn is a family-owned hotel on the shore of the lake. Complete with a full restaurant, meeting rooms, a coffee and souvenir shop, and incredible views, the hotel offers 54 rooms to visitors. Elvar will give us a tour of the lovely property and answer all your questions.

Outside the hotel you can enjoy the many, many activities that Mývatn has to offer. The Mývatn area bills itself as the northern lights capital of the world. The otherworldly volcanic fields of Krafla, the geothermal area of Hverir and the black lava formation at Dimmuborgir offer a more terrestrial adventure. Of course, the Mývatn Nature Baths will help you relax.
