INLUS Author’s Corner – Sverrir Sigurdsson and Veronica Li

Please join us on Thursday, November 5th at 8PM Eastern (7PM Central; 6PM Mountain; 5PM Pacific) for another INLUS Author’a Corner, a periodic webinar with authors of Iceland related books.

The event will feature authors Sverrir Sigurdsson and his wife Veronica Li and a discussion of their 2020 memoir, Viking Voyager: An Icelandic Memoir. Viking Voyager

The memoir is in 2 parts. The first part, about his Icelandic roots, begins with the family’s struggle to eke out a living on the Western and Eastern fjords during the late 1800s.  Born and raised in Reykjavik, with summers spent in South Iceland, Sverrir watched the country transform from a dirt-poor nation to an advanced country after the Second World War.

The second part covers Sverrir’s travels around the world, starting as a teenager studying in Finland, and after graduation as an architect moving to Sweden, the Middle East, Africa, and finally to the World Bank in Washington DC.

This vivacious personal story captures the heart and soul of modern Iceland.  At the end of his voyages, Sverrir discovers what it means to be Icelandic.

Please mark your calendar and join us for an interesting discussion with Sverrir and Veronica.

The interview will be conducted by fellow author, Solveig Eggerz.Author photo
