2025 INLUS Photo Contest Winners

A Summer in Iceland Through Your Eyes

We’re pleased to share the results of the first-ever INLUS Photo Contest, which invited our community to submit photos capturing Summer Scenes in Iceland.

Over the course of the contest, we received nearly 100 submissions—far more than we expected for our first run. The variety and quality of the images truly impressed us. We saw sun-drenched landscapes, wildlife in motion, and quiet moments full of story and spirit. It was a joy to experience Iceland through your eyes.

After two weeks of voting across Facebook and Instagram, the top three photos rose to the surface in what turned out to be an incredibly close race.

First Place: Adam Grzeliński – A Short Pause in Scientific Work

Adam’s image of a bicycle by the roadside, framed by mountains and leading to the sea, captured 180 votes. Taken on a strikingly sunny Icelandic day, it balances stillness and movement, with a quiet sense of curiosity and possibility.

“A short pause in scientific work,” Adam shared—a fitting caption for a photo that feels like the start of something.

Second Place: Nikolya Serek-Basan – Skógafoss

With 179 votes—just one shy of the top spot—Nikolya’s photo of Skógafoss stood out for its timeless beauty and unique perspective.

Third Place: Magdalena Sadłowska – Sheep by the Sea

Magdalena’s image earned 168 votes and features sheep grazing with a vista of the sea in the background. It captures a moment full of gentle motion, soft tones, and a deep sense of place.

Thank You for Being Part of It

To everyone who participated—thank you. Whether you submitted a photo, voted, or helped spread the word, your involvement helped make this a meaningful first contest.

We’re already starting to think about what the next photo contest might look like. If you have a theme idea you’d like to see—whether it’s tied to a season, a place, or a feeling—we’d love to hear it. Send your suggestions to info@inlus.org.

You can also follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay updated on future opportunities. Thanks again for being part of this. We’re looking forward to seeing where we go next, together.
